Ideally located 30 kms from Perpignan and Mediterranean beaches, 85 kms from ski resorts and 65 kms from Spain, the sun shines more than 300 days per year above Tautavel.
450 000 years ago, the 'Homo Tautavelus" had already dicovered this pleasant and prosperous valley!
(Don't miss the Museum of Prehistoric Age).
Later, the Cathares were choosing the same strategic location to establish their fascinating citadels.
Nowadays, it's more than ever a wonderful place to have a great time.
