Marvel at the history buried within the many châteaux and castles, which lie along such famous routes as those of Richard the Lionheart and St John of Compostelo. Discover the countless walking trails and cycling paths, some only a stone's throw from our front door. Fish in our local lake with daily or fortnightly permits or simply take the plunge and swim from the lake's sandy beach. At Lac de Vassivière, only a few minutes drive, you can indulge in water skiing, sailing, kayaking and wind surfing as well as swimming and fishing. Explore the endless natural beauty of the surrounding countryside or wander amongst the forests, hills and valleys where famous members of the French Resistance hid during more troubled times and whose exploits are celebrated by monuments and museums.
L'Hirondelle du Lac offers three beautiful individually designed double bedrooms.

All rooms are en-suite. Two rooms face the lake and the third has fantastic views of the historic tower and resistance museum.

A feature wall of fresh contemporary blue greets you as you enter this very large double bedroom and you think modern! Then your attention is drawn to the grand, Louis XI style double bed, richly decorated with inlaid wood and raised gold classical motifs, and you think antique! And you would be right on both accounts. This bedroom is an eclectic dream with the other furniture curiosities, statues, jazz themed pictures and chrome bathroom fittings, you will be aware l'Hirondelle du Lac is not your average bed and breakfast experience. The room offers excellent views of the historic town and tower of Peyrat-le-Château which only adds to its appeal. The room has a vivid blue en-suite shower area which makes this a unique bedroom in which to base yourself during your stay in Limousin.

Secondly, the soft calming wall colour will help you to unwind after a busy day sightseeing and thirdly, the breathtaking view of the lake and far reaching forested mountains will make you long for the morning to arrive so you can continue to explore the wonderful scenery. A pleasant en-suite bathroom in the same soothing colour complements this inviting, pretty bedroom.

This large sumptious and romantic double bedroom with its antique dark wood bed, parquet floor and majestic mirrored wardrobe, conjures up an image of French château living. The rich brick red for relaxing evenings is highlighted with a bright white to allow and capture the soothing natural daylight, which pours through the large shuttered window. The room has stunning views over the lake and surrounding mountains adding to that château lifestyle dream. A large en-suite shower room completes this extremely comfortable and enticing bedroom.
